Spring 2015
JAPN 401 Japanese Structure of Language
- In this course I studied Japanese language in relation to linguistics. I was able to learn more grammar in this course. We focused a lot on the usage of Keigo, Transitive, and Instransitive verbs. I also learned about when to use the correct grammar. The later half of the course focused more on the linguistics aspects. For example pitch accent, moras, and pronunciation. I thought this course was very interesting and will strengthen my language skills. I fulfilled the Language MLO while taking this course. For more evidence please refer to the MLO Language page (1).
- In this course I was able to learn more about how to write my Japanese paper for Capstone. And like the Pre-Capstone course I was able to present my Capstone power point in English and in Japanese. I was able to learn from my fellow classmate's feedback and from their power points as well. And from the guidance of my professor I was able to complete my survey questions, organize my power point and get the feed back I needed to perfect the organization of survey results. By taking this course I fulfilled my Research MLO.
- The previous course mentioned have helped me so much in Capstone. Although this is a 4 hour course it was very hard to complete everything needed to complete for capstone. In this course we learned how to research articles and books related to my topic. I also learned about how to site those articles and books in APA style. During this course we learned about difference between the Spanish major Capstones and our capstones. During this class I was able to get more feedback from my other classmates (the Spanish majors). This course also fulfills my Research MLO.
