JAPN 302 Japanese History
- In this class I fulfilled the MLO for language and culture. In this course we cover Japanese History up to the the Tokugawa ear through language. I was able to learn how to answer questions in Japanese about the readings as well as express my own opinion about certain topics in the readings. I participated in class discussions about the book assigned for class. I was able to learn how to express my opinion confidently to my fellow classmates. I also studied a variety of Kanji throughout this course.
- This class was a challenge for me because it was the first Japanese course that I took after coming back from studying abroad. It was a challenge because the course was conducted in all Japanese and it was a different teaching style than I was accustomed to. I really enjoyed the course because it was about Japanese History. I also learned a lot of new things about Japan and its history.
- In this course I was able to choose and nurture my Capstone topic. Throughout the course we learned various power point and presentation skills. This class also had Japanese students enrolled, therefore they were also able to experience how to start a Capstone Project. This course helped me a lot in the creating process of my Capstone. I wished I was able to do more for my project during this course.
- World Language and Culture Pro- Seminar course helped me create my eportfolio. As well as organize what is needed for graduation. During this class I was able to get to know lower class Japanese major students as well as some Spanish students. I learned about the career choices that are available for language majors. I took lectures from the Spanish Professors in the WLC Department. I was able to learn a variety of things from a variety of people.
